What We Support

We understand that the foundation of a strong community lies in the well-being and stability of its people. That’s why we are deeply committed to supporting programs that provide comprehensive mental health care, ensure access to stable housing, strengthen family support systems, and deliver compassionate maternal and prenatal care.

Each of these areas is vital, serving as the building blocks for creating an environment where individuals and families can thrive. Mental health care empowers individuals to navigate life’s challenges, while stable housing offers the security and dignity needed to build a better future. Family support fosters connection, resilience, and growth, and maternal care safeguards the health of mothers and their children, nurturing the next generation.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that access to these essential resources is not a privilege but a social responsibility. By investing in these critical programs, we aim to create a ripple effect of positivity that uplifts entire communities. The Corbett Foundation is proud to stand alongside partners and organizations that share our vision of empowering individuals, strengthening families, and ensuring that every community member has the opportunity to flourish.

Why Trust-Based Philanthropy Approach?

At the Corbett Foundation, we view trust-based philanthropy as more than just providing financial support—it’s about fostering genuine partnerships with grantees and organizations. By embracing an open, collaborative approach, we create spaces to discuss challenges, share valuable experiences, and learn together. This inclusive participation not only strengthens the organizations we support but also drives meaningful, lasting impact for the communities they serve.

While we recognize the risks involved in this approach, we see them as essential steps toward transformative change. For example, grassroots initiatives like ‘Little Birthday Angels’—bringing joy to homeless children in public schools with birthday presents—illustrate the profound impact of trust-based philanthropy. These programs, despite inherent challenges, have a proven ability to inspire hope and make a tangible difference at the community level. It is this kind of bold, compassionate work that defines our mission, and we are proud to champion it.

The Corbett Foundation’s support has been nothing short of transformational for the families we serve. Their investment has allowed us to provide critical wrap-around services—from prenatal education and doula support to mental health counseling and fatherhood engagement—that not only strengthen families today but help break cycles of poor maternal and infant health outcomes. Because of their generosity, we are not just helping parents navigate pregnancy and early parenthood—we’re building healthier, more resilient families for generations to come.

Megan McFall, B.Ed., RNChief Executive Officer, Indian River County Healthy Start

Thanks to the generous support of the Corbett Foundation, Youth Guidance was able to impact the lives of 225 at-risk youth in Indian River County in just one year. This transformative grant provided unprecedented access to construction trades certifications and hands-on training, empowering young people with practical skills and career opportunities. It also funded vital parent counseling and life-changing after-school programs, including academic enrichment with a certified teacher, cooking, sewing, and financial literacy. These experiences, which our children otherwise would not have access to, are helping to break the cycle of poverty in our community and build a stronger, brighter future for our youth.

We were fortunate to be connected with John and the Foundation through a former Board member. Mr. Corbett was eager to learn about the grantmaking process and how the Foundation could make a significant impact to the community at large. In addition to a significant gift to United Way’s Annual Campaign, the Corbett Community Partnership Foundation has partnered to identify gaps and provided generous support to some of our funded partners that will enhance their programming and create collaborations that didn’t exist previously. The Foundation’s trust-based philanthropy is building a stronger community with the resources needed for everyone to thrive.
